So, you've determined it's about time you begin losing a bit of weight, and that working out regularly would be a good way to begin. But you probably haven't exercised for some time, so you have no idea where to start. You probably think it's a little intimidating. All you gotta do is get started and walk. You should make walking a huge part of your exercise plan.
There are lots of ways to fit walking into your daily schedule. Are you a dog owner? Take your dog for a fine, long walk. Anything under 10 minutes doesn't count. It may only have been ten minutes, but in a week that equates to 70 minutes, which is quite a lot of walking. You can double this by just walking your dog twice a day. A good thing you might want to consider is walking part of the way to workplace; you can make this as long as you want by merely stopping short of your workplace. For sure, irrespective of how far you are from your office, you can work something out to get some exercise on the way there. Of course, you'll have to walk back at the end of your work day, too, so that doubles your work out - whic is great! If you get on the bus to work, just begin using a stop that's a little farther from either end. Adding more walking into your everyday routine is a cinch.
Walking is great for your body and general health. The reason is that walking is one of the most efficacious aerobic workouts. This means it's not just great for your heart, but you'll experience weight loss too. You can go at a fairly slow pace if need be, so don't be afraid that you're going to hurt your muscles or joints as you might if you went for a run. My brother is extremely thin (but he eats a lot of junk food) and I asked him how he remains lean. He mentioned to me how much he walks every day, and it's a lot more than I do. When he reminded me of that, things abruptly made sense. Walking is simple exercise, so there simply isn't any good excuse for you to not walk.
The moment you establish walking as a part of your daily routine, it will become easier to stay with it, and as a bonus you'll start to notice you're losing some pounds, too. You won't have to be anxious about motivation, since walking is not all that exhausting, and you'll be encouraged at how much better you feel. As you walk more and notice changes, you'll want to do more or increase the intensity level of your walks. If you are confident that you can walk more - do it. Who knows? It could be that you'll love walking so much that you decide you can bring up the notch a bit by jogging. After that, you can do anything you want.
What else is there that you need to know? Are you inspired to get started walking? No matter how hectic your day is, you can certainly find 10 minutes here and there for a brisk walk. Another possibility is to join a gym and use their treadmills for a half hour or so daily.
